Good Morning, Bat Yam

On Tuesday we did this picture scavenger hunt in Bat Yam/Tel Aviv. I walked around Bat Yam all day in flip flops. Bad idea. I had my first falafel of the trip, which was delicious. I saw the place where I will be volunteering, Fat Meir Soup Kitchen, and it looks like a cool place. I went to sleep early and got almost 10 hours of sleep!

Genesis

Well, I'm just writing this blog so I don't have to retell every story from every day to 100 different people. It's probably not going to be too exciting...

I left for Israel on Sunday afternoon. First I went to Mort's for lunch with Abby and Drea, and they had no idea what to order a deli. Then I flew to Newark with Rayshall. Our flight was delayed, but Continental fixed it for us because the majority of our flight was on our next flight to Israel. I read Cosmo on the way there (thanks Drea, I enjoyed the comments.) The flight to Israel was really easy. Continental has these new touch screen TVs with 200 movies, plus TV shows, games, music, etc. I watched a movie, took some dramamine, and slept pretty much the whole flight.

When we got to Israel, it took a while to find the Young Judea people, but when we finally did we took a bus to Bat Yam, where we met our roommates and then the rest of the group. Everyone is really nice and cool. There are 22 of us, including 6 Israelis. We went to the guys' apartment, which is right across the street from mine, and it was a lot of fun. Only got 2 1/2 hours of sleep...
